Hofco offers premium OCTG/Drill Stem Inspections & non-destructive testing (NDT) services to the Australian upstream Oil & Gas industry.
Our inspection services encompass drilling and workover rig periodic maintenance NDT inspections, Drill pipe, tubing, casing, handling equipment, fishing tools, BHA and speciality down hole tool inspections. These services are available at both of Hofco’s QLD facilities (Roma & Molendinar) and of course at client’s premises and in the field.
At Hofco, we understand the need to have well maintained equipment ready to mobilise to the field quickly and be able to trust that the equipment arrives in great condition ready for service. The small things matter; attention to detail, corrosion preventative maintenance, accurate record keeping, clear inspection markings, thread protectors fitted correctly, excellent chain of responsibility management and great communication.
All the Hofco inspection team are fully qualified to the international standards of TH Hill DS-1, API RP7G-2, API SPEC 7-2 & NS-2 and also Corporate Members of AINDT. Our highly experienced and well-trained professional inspectors are well versed in the inspection and classification of new and ageing strings of drill pipe. This allows Hofco to give our clients certainty in the condition of their equipment which adds value to the project.
OCTG Inspections

What’s Involved in an Inspection?
OCTG & Drill Stem Inspections are based on several key industry standards. For example, consider the following:
- API RP 5B1 (casing, tubing, and line pipe threads)
- The API SPEC 7-2 (rotary shouldered thread connections)
- API RP 7G-2 (drill stem elements)
